Traditional fantasy baseball is way too long and intricate for my blood. 26 weeks of daily managing 25 man rosters in 20 team leagues just isn't my cup of tea; that isn't fun, that's a job, where's my paycheck? I want to like fantasy baseball, thus I've stayed true to form, dumbed down and simplified the process, and created BPI Sports Ace of Diamonds, a fantasy baseball pitching contest where you choose 1 pitcher a week to accumulate points in effort to win this contest or at the very least, make a solid podium finish. The game is FREE to join/play and I offer the greatest prizes of them all, bragging rights, spoils, and your name on a custom-made A-card, designed by yours truly. BPI SPORTS ACE OF DIAMONDS

Choose 1 pitcher a week for each of the 26 weeks of the MLB season and don't choose that pitcher more than once throughout the season. Pitchers will rack up points according to this format:

Outs (one-third of an inning): +1 per out pitched

Strikeouts (SO or K): +0.5 per strikeout

Hits Allowed (H): -0.5 per hit allowed

Walks Allowed (BB): -0.5 per walk allowed

Hit Batsmen (HBP): -0.5 per hit batsman

Earned Runs Allowed (ER): -1 per earned run allowed

This is a 1 game a week (a week in this contest runs from Sunday to Saturday) contest thus if a pitcher starts/relieves in multiple games in the week you selected him, you will only be awarded the points from the highest point netting game. For instance, if you chose Roy Halladay and he started 2 games in the week you chose him; earning 17.5 points against the Pirates, and 6 points versus the Padres, the 17.5 point total will be the total of record and added to your score. Given this rule, it's probably better to select starting pitchers as opposed to relief pitchers.

If your selected pitcher gets injured during the week you chose him, his game gets rained out, or any other circumstance occurs by which he's unable to pitch, then you're simply out of luck. You will not be able to select another pitcher for any reason after the weekly deadline has passed.

The user with the most points at the end of the last regular season MLB game wins the BPI Sports Ace of Diamonds contest.

HOW TO JOIN/PLAY

To join, send an email to games@bpisports.com with the following information (be sure to include "BPI Sports" in the subject line of all emails):

First Name: i.e. John

Last Name: i.e. Smith

Email Address: i.e. you@anysite.com

USA State, Canadian Province, or Country of Residence: i.e. Michigan, or Quebec, or Norway...given your location of course

Username: (Can either be the first 3 letters of your last name (SMI) or your first initial of your first name and the first 2 letters of your last name (JSM).

Jersey Number (Pick five in order of importance, 00-99): 67-79-07-20-87

NOTE: Your BPI Sports ID will be a combination of your username, jersey number, and location (i.e. - SMI67MI or JSM79PQ or SMI07NOR). In the event that all of your jersey numbers are already taken for your username, I will choose a jersey number for you at random.

I will send you a confirmation email within 24 hours of the initial correspondence to affirm your BPI Sports Ace of Diamonds participation. Your email address will be kept confidential and I will not sell, list, or otherwise distribute email addresses or any information you send to any bpisports.com email address.
