INTRO

Welcome to the BPISPORTS.COM Game Room, where winning IS everything.  I have six different fantasy football games for you this fall, where you will fully control your destiny to success or failure in the world of FFB.  Currently, there are no prizes, but all games are free to join.  With the unique challenges the following games will provide, the victories will be sweet and the competition will be fierce.  So without further ado, here is your PICK SIX:

BPI SPORTS ACADEMIC/GLADIATOR QB

First to clarify, Academic contests refer to college/FBS (D1-A) and Gladiator contests refer to pro/NFL.  The point formats for both versions are identical.

Choose 1 quarterback a week for each of the 16 FBS (D1-A) weeks (AQB) and/or the 17 NFL weeks of the season (GQB) and don't choose that quarterback more than once throughout the season.  QBs will rack up points through passing stats only (attained in the week that they're chosen), according to this format:

There are no negative points for fumbles or fumbles lost, nor are there positive points for two-point conversions scored.

In AQB, you may only choose an opponent once, so if you choose Denard Robinson v. Western Michigan, you cannot choose any other QB v. Western Michigan for the rest of the season.  Also, you may only choose against one FCS (D1-AA) team throughout the season.  Only FBS (D1-A) quarterbacks may be chosen.

In GQB, you may only choose an opponent twice, so if you choose Jay Cutler and Aaron Rodgers v. Detroit in 2 separate weeks, you cannot choose any other QB v. Detroit for the rest of the season.

The user with the most AQB points at the end of the BCS National Championship game wins the AQB contest.  The user with the most GQB points at the end of the NFL regular season wins the GQB contest.

BPI SPORTS ACADEMIC/GLADIATOR RB

Again to clarify, Academic contests refer to college/FBS (D1-A) and Gladiator contests refer to pro/NFL.  The point formats for both versions are identical.

Choose 1 running back a week for each of the 16 FBS (D1-A) weeks (ARB) and/or the 17 NFL weeks of the season (GRB) and don't choose that running back more than once throughout the season.  RBs will rack up points through rushing stats only (attained in the week that they're chosen), according to this format:

In ARB, you may only choose an opponent once, so if you choose LaMichael James v. LSU, you cannot choose any other RB v. LSU for the rest of the season.  Also, you may only choose against one FCS (D1-AA) team throughout the season.  Only FBS (D1-A) running backs may be chosen.

In GQB, you may only choose an opponent twice, so if you choose Matt Forte and Ryan Grant v. Detroit in 2 separate weeks, you cannot choose any other RB v. Detroit for the rest of the season.

The user with the most ARB points at the end of the BCS National Championship game wins the ARB contest.  The user with the most GRB points at the end of the NFL regular season wins the GRB contest.

BPI SPORTS ACADEMIC/GLADIATOR WR/TE

Again to clarify, Academic contests refer to college/FBS (D1-A) and Gladiator contests refer to pro/NFL.  The point formats for both versions are identical.

Choose 1 wide receiver or tight end a week for each of the 16 FBS (D1-A) weeks (AWR) and/or the 17 NFL weeks of the season (GWR) and don't choose that wide receiver or tight end more than once throughout the season.  WR/TEs will rack up points through receiving stats only (attained in the week that they're chosen), according to this format:

LOGIC

I originally created these games because I had no desire to play fantasy football as is (which has since changed) and wanted an "over-easy" version of it where players would win or lose solely on their choices, and not what happens on fantasy draft day in August.

The player point formats are based upon yardage, thus a completion isn't really worth 0.5 and an incompletion worth -0.5, rather a completion is worth 5 yards and an incompletion is worth -5 yards.  Receptions are worth 5 yards apiece.  Touchdowns are worth 50 yards, and so on.  There is a minimal negation for rushing attempts to help factor YPC into the fantasy mix.  Players are only pointed for what they're "paid to do" (QB - Passing, RB - Rushing, WR/TE - Receiving) because these competitions are meant to accentuate the quality of players at their positions.  Additions of non-positional stats could unfairly skew the results as well.

If you have any comments, questions, suggestions, or other feedback, please drop me an email at games@bpisports.com.  Enjoy the games and good luck.
