2013 BPI SPORTS MAN v. GAME CHALLENGETECMO SUPER BOWL (SNES) - PROJECT #4B261-19 TOTAL / 228-13 REGULAR SEASON / 33-6 PLAYOFFS / 9 out of 15 SUPER CHAMPIONSGOAL: PLAY A SEASON WITH EACH TEAM AND WIN EVERY GAMENEXT UPDATE: ???DEADLINE: 12-31-13
TEAM TALLY: Dallas 16-0, 1-1; Pittsburgh 15-1, 3-0; Kansas City 16-0, 1-1; Detroit 16-0, 3-0; San Francisco 16-0, 3-0; New York Jets 16-0, 3-0; Houston 15-1, 3-0; Phoenix 13-3, 0-1; Buffalo 16-0, 3-0; Atlanta 16-0, 0-1; Green Bay 16-0, 3-0; San Diego 15-1, 3-0; New England 12-4, 2-1; Washington 14-2, 2-1; New Orleans 15-1, 3-0; Minnesota 1-02-6-13...As you can see I’m 5 (of 28) seasons into the challenge, and it’s probably the least enthused I’ve been about any of them, perhaps doing a repeat challenge of sorts wasn’t the best idea, but I’m getting after it anyhow. TSB for SNES is a tougher, more solid game than the original TSB for NES. I’ll be playing the 1993 schedule with each team, and if I’m feeling ambitious enough (which I’m not currently, lol) I will run it back and play each teams 1992 schedule as well. My original 2013 MvG Challenge was to play a season with each team in NHL ‘95 for SNES, however in game #39 of my opening season with Detroit (38-0-0) v. Anaheim, the game froze after I scored to make it 12-1 in my favor, and given that this was my first game played after the actual NHL lockout ended, I took it as an omen and decided to move on, hence TSB...the sequel...enjoy!...3-5-13...Well in a month’s time, I went on a 71 game win streak, had a couple of epic game outcomes that you can read about on my Man v. Game Facebook page, and the last game I played was with Phoenix, a 24-21 playoff loss to SF, where I had 8 turnovers (4 lost fumbles, 4 INTs)...so the game pretty much had it out for me that day, regardless of how mundane and talent-less the Cardinals are. The way I feel right now, I think I’ll just be running through the 1993 schedule with each team only...I’ve thought about “coaching” teams in seasons on/for Tecmo, but I will probably slate that for a completely different challenge...you never know with me though, always depends on how the impulse strikes...I guarantee you 28 seasons, so 20 left...on we go!...5-2-13...It’s been a LONG time since the last official update here, almost the inverse of the previous date (though I have made a comment here and there on the MvG Facebook page)...4 titles out of the last 7 tries, just now starting up a season with Minnesota (who has an awful playbook btw...I don’t change playbooks for/during the challenge). I’m approaching 1000 Tecmo Super Bowl wins, if you combine my 710-29 mark in 39 seasons on TSB for NES with my current 261-19 in 15+ seasons on TSB1 for SNES, that puts me at 971-48 all-time in 1019 contests. I’m not eating up seasons with the same veracity as 2011 (I finished my 28th campaign on 5-5-11), but I’m more than on pace to complete 28 on TSB1 for SNES in a very timely fashion, again leaving me time to finsh some/all? Of the second seasons that I didn’t get to on TSB for NES 2 years ago. I eventually plan to do a TSB3 for SNES challenge, but I don’t see it for next year...do a season with all 30 teams and a go-round with an all Free Agent team (which I did with NYJ in the mid-90s or so, finishing 13-3...didn’t play the playoffs back in those days, was just obsessed with stats lol). I’ll stop there, might be making an appearance at the Midwest Tecmo Tournament in late July 2013 (I expect to get killed, no joke lol), but we’ll see as time progresses...be well...
